We have the H1N1 vaccine in stock (but in short supply). Since the H1N1 flu is more deadly to children we will give it to them first. So from now until December 1st we will be giving the vaccine to the first three groups and children up to the age and including 9 years old. After December 1st we will start giving the vaccine to all people on the following list. 
 
 1. Pregnant women
 2. People who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age
 3. Health care and emergency medical services personnel
 4. Persons between the ages of 6 months through 24 years of age
 5. People from ages 25 through 64 years who are at higher risk for novel H1N1 because of chronic health disorders or compromised immune systems. 

 
The regular flu vaccine is currently out of stock. We do have the regular influenza vaccine for children
(6 months to 36 months).

People recommended for seasonal influenza vaccination during the 2009-10 season remain the same as the previous season:
  • Children aged 6 months up to their 19th birthday
  • Pregnant women
  • People 50 years of age and older
  • People of any age with certain chronic medical conditions
  • People who live in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities
  • People who live with or care for those at high risk for complications from flu, including:
     
    • Health care workers
    • Household contacts of persons at high risk for complications from the flu
    • Household contacts and out of home caregivers of children less than 6 months of age (these children are too young to be vaccinated)
 
Remember the best way to prevent the spread of the flu is to wash your hands regularly and cover your mouth with a mask if you have a cough. Also cough into your elbow not your hand.
